Alumni/ae Club
An energetic and enthusiastic group has recently formed the "MSE Alumni/ae Club." The purpose of this organizations is to work closely with the department to facilitate the creation of a tight-knit MSE alumni/ae community and more productive engagement between MSE alumni/ae and the current MSE community (students, faculty, postdocs, and researchers). Initial early program ideas include: an MSE Alumni/ae Careers Lecture Series, an MSE Almni/ae Mentorship Program, the formation of a "First Conference Fund" to support student conference attendance at one conference of their choice during their first year, and the creation of an MSE Department Retreat. Get in on the ground floor of this dynamic new oranization! To become a leader or a member, contact David Danielson, Ph.D. '08, dtdaniel (at) alum.mit.edu.

Events
Course III held the annual Commencement Luncheon for graduates, families, alumni, faculty, students, staff, and friends on June 6. Many members of the class of '58 wearing their red jackets, other reunion classes, and other alums came by the Course III tent on the lawn between Buildings 6 and 18. The rain stopped and all enjoyed the the buffet and celebration of the latest Course III alums.
